February 5, 2010: The stage is set for another major music and film gathering in Austin Texas as this March South by Southwest (SXSW) celebrates its 25th anniversary and SLAPPA (www.slappa.com) maker of professional laptop backpacks, laptop bags, and travel cases will be setting up shop at the 4 day conference (March 14-17) to showcase some of its latest innovative products.
SXSW draws well over 40,000 music and film fans and while the conference revolves around the Austin Convention center, the party extends into the streets, local clubs and bars. 89 stages will feature more than 1900 artist showcases including The North Mississippi Allstars, Citizen Cope, Jakob Dylan and performing throughout the week. Bob Geldof is this years' keynote speaker and more than 300 other speaking tracks and panels will cover topics from online marketing, the social media explosion, the future of music platforms and how to grow business in challenging economic environments.
The reason SLAPPA is participating is very simple, at least according to Brand Manager Jeff Moss. "SXSW is more than just a great party—and it certainly is a great party—it's a place where the movers and shakers in the music world come together, and new products and technologies are showcased. It's a great environment to be amongst end users, and unlike larger industry events, this gives SLAPPA the opportunity to get the brand and products known more intimately with end users."
KIKEN also provides travelers with ultimate convenience when traveling with a laptop, with a quick-scan section that allows users to keep their laptop in the bag while it passes through airport scanners. In addition to this quick-scan, checkpoint ready section, KIKEN bags also feature a second (center) storage area that allows for storage of a second laptop, clothes, books and documents. Under the flap, on the front outer panel of the bag, are 3 additional pockets for handheld gadgets, cords and power bricks.
"As is the story with most SLAPPA products, the KIKEN customer 18" laptop shoulder bags were in response to customer demand," said SLAPPA Product Director, Mike Yau. "So many creative people and gamers are using larger 17" and 18" laptops, like the Macbook Pro, Asus G73 and Alienware m17x and they look to SLAPPA for bags and cases because our products offer such great protection for these expensive and large laptops. This KIKEN series is perfect for these large laptops, and with our interchangeable flaps users now have one bag that they can change the look and functionality of at any time. We look at KIKEN bags as "lifetime" laptop bags."
